I did this quick sketch in celebration of Gene Roddenberry's pivotal sci-fi series. I had never really watched the Original Series as an adult until this month. I have been watching on Netflix, and am very intrigued by the level of special effects and ingenuity of the show for its time! To Boldly Go...

Today was Jack "The King" Kirby's birthday! In observance, I decide to practice my pen and ink skills and draw the evil Darkseid, formidable enemy to my favorite hero, Superman, and creation of "The King".
